In 2017, Zimbabwe grappled with energy shortages and unstable power supply, hampering its industrial and commercial development. To address this challenge, the government initiated efforts to promote renewable energy projects, with photovoltaic energy emerging as a key solution.
The promotion of PV electricity generation not only resulted in a more stable power supply but also created employment opportunities for Zimbabweans. Local workers received training and employment during the construction and maintenance of PV projects, injecting new vitality into the socio-economic fabric.
Furthermore, the adoption of PV energy also helped reduce reliance on traditional energy sources, lowering the cost of energy imports and enhancing Zimbabwe’s energy self-sufficiency. This laid a more robust foundation for the sustainable development of the economy.
